Welcome to the Weston Public Library 2008 Summer Reading Programs!
This is the KIDS SUMMER READING PROGRAM for GRADES 1 through 6.
Our Summer Celebration was held on Wednesday, August 20th. About 70 kids came with their families to enjoy ice cream sundaes and pick out a book for participating in the program. It was a very enjoyable evening!
If you haven't picked up your prizes or your book yet, please come to the library any time we're open and do so! We will have prizes available through September 20th.
The WINNER of the Gummi Guessing Jar is Theresa Morley-McLaughlin! There were 1,551 gummi bears, swedish fish, sour patch kids and gummi worms in the jar. Theresa guessed closest at 1,573. Congratulations, Theresa!

This book is about a girl named Nora who comes home with a really bad report card.She thinks it's not a bad deal. It just tells you about what you've learned. But then Nora ends up in a big heap of trouble. She has a gang of grown-ups thinking about her grades, they were all convinced she was an idiot, her parents are so mad, and her school didn't know what to do. In all she was fine.............................

Rate with 1 being "yuck" and 5 being "excellent!": 5 Title: Ricky Ricottas Mighty Robot Author: Pilkey Review: This book was about the Mighty Robot fighting evil unicorns and the Mighty Robot escaped. Rate with 1 being "yuck" and 5 being "excellent!": 5 Title: Giraffe Pelly and Me Author: Roald Dahl Review: I like how it turns out because they all get was they always wanted and needed (Flowers/Food for G, Salmon for P, and the monkey got walnuts) this was an easy read, but the boy got what he always wanted. I'll let you find out... Rate with 1 being "yuck" and 5 being "excellent!": 4 Title: Frindle Author: Andrew Clements Review: Frindle was not one of my favorite books but not one of the worst books. It is a nice school story. It is about a boy named Nick that makes up a word for a pen, Frindle. i recomened this book to any incoming 5th graders and people who have a good imagantion. Rate with 1 being "yuck" and 5 being "excellent!": 3 Title: Naruto: Volume Four Author: Masashi Kishimoto Review: The Naruto series are good comic books. I can't say much without giving any thing away. You have to read the first three books to follow this book. Like traditional japanese comics (Manga), this book reads from left to right. Rate with 1 being "yuck" and 5 being "excellent!": 5
