This book was what I would call bittersweet. It was very stark, and seemed to have reached a sort of depth of the which the main character had fallen into. Another beautiful work by Laurie Halse Anderson, it has captured the torment of the protagonist as she is frozen in place with her anorexia. Yet is also maintains the hopful glimpse of the future of the girl as she is saved from certain death.
A VERY interesting read. I especially like the way Riordan intwined Egyptian religion facts throughout the book. I think it couldd've used a more interesting plot. A little bit more better than it is now. But overall, a great read.
