Welcome to the Silver Lake Middle School Summer Reading 2011 Website. Here you can link to websites created for each of our book selections. For each title website you will find links to reviews, the first few pages, our student's recommendation, and usually a short video about the book.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - DUE TO LOW GROUP NUMBERS - INVISIBLE LINES WILL NOT BE A FIRST CHOICE BOOK, BUT WILL BE A 2ND AND ABOVE CHOICE BOOK FOR BATTLE OF THE BOOKS INVITATION.

To register, please set up your account with your username as firstnamelastname, for example: JohnSmith. For your password use your student ID number.

After you have set up your account, you may register for one of our summer reading titles by choosing from the list. You will also be asked whether you plan to read a second book from our list, which qualifies you to be invited to our exciting Battle of the Books.

You may change your choice by selecting your new choice(s) by July 31st. To change your book title, login with your username. Then click on View/Log. You will get a screen with a pull down of our titles and you should choose the title you would like.

Jason has atisum.Because of the disabilitys people ar'nt frendly to jason.But on an online writing program he meets PhoenixBird and the emails were the highlight of his day.

I enjoyed Turtle in Paradise because the main character Turtle had to face many high and low points. For example, at the beginning of the book, she was separated from her Mom. Later in the book she survived a hurricane and found treasure with her cousins. In the end, Turtle was able to feel love and appreciate the ups and downs of life.

Batboy is easily a 10 on a scale of 1-10. I liked it because it had humor, suspense, and a very good plot.This was a godd read and i would reccomend it to anyone.

This book was incredible! I loved how it mixed in the different problems and tied them together in a way that made it interesting and surprising to read, always wanting to find out what happened next. I would highly recommend this book.

I enjoyed reading this book because it had several unexpected and dramtic moments. For example, Katrina's grandmother having a heart attack was an unexpected event. Furthermore, it was a dramatic moment when Katrina found Malcolm in the alley near her grandmother's coffeehouse. Finally, the fight between Vincent and Katrina was shocking because they have been friends for so long. I hope I get another opportunity to read a book like Coffeehouse Angel. 0:)

I loved the book "Coffeehouse Angel" by Suzanne Selfors! Filled with adventure, romance, and suspence,"Coffeehouse Angel" was something I could barley put down. Malcom played a much different character in the book than any of the other books I've read. I would suggest this book anyone for a love of adventure and romance!

I loved reading this book. This is probably because I love Greek mythology and anything somewhat historical. It has an amazing and creative way of intertwining history in with real time plus a little bit of old traditions. Anyone who liked the percy jackson series will love this book!

I loved the Percy Jackson series so when Lost Hero came out I thought it would be good. Rick Riordan is a wonderful author. The book is easy to understand and after chapter 3, you don't want to put the book down. I can't wait for book 2 of this series!!
