Many thanks to everybody who participated in the Teen Summer Reading Program. Hope you had a great summer and enjoyed many good reads! The programs were a success with a record number of teens attending. We had 121 teens register this summer with 1649 hours logged, and 216 reviews posted.

We had a lot of fun this summer, and hope you all enjoyed the activities!

And, congratulations to Olivia Marino, the lucky winner of the iPad Mini!

This is a very good (and long!) book. I had already read an abbreviated version of the story, which had only the first part, so a lot of it was new to me. It is about four girls: Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy and their story as they grow up. Although Jo is the main character, we hear a lot about every girl. Meg, the eldest, likes pretty and fashionable clothes, though her family is poor. Jo is careless and boyish, she likes to read and has a quick temper. Beth is “the angel” of the family, always caring for others and never thinking of herself though she is frail. Finally, Amy, the youngest, has an artistic flair and does not like being treated differently because she is the smallest. This is a good book that I recommend to anyone who wants to read a classic.
