Thank you for participating in the Teen Summer Reading Program at the Malden Public Library. The program ended on Thursday, August 11, 2011. Malden teens combined to read over 13,000 hours! Wow! That's a LOT of hours.
Congratulations to everyone for reading, volunteering, and attending so many teen events this summer.
You can continue to claim prizes at the Young Adult desk from 2-6 pm on weekdays through Friday, August 19.
Remember: the fun continues in the school year with teen events, clubs, and contests throughout the school year. Hope to see you in the Young Adult Area!

Title of the Book Bone: Rock Jaw: Master of the Eastern Border Book Review This book was 5th in the Bone series. I liked this book because of the comics and the story between the Bone characters. I would recommend this book and the series to anyone who likes to read comic novels such as Bone. Genre Non-fiction - Reference books Title of the Book The lovely Bones Book Review Susie salmon was a girl who was raped and get killed when she was fourteen by her neighbor Mr Harvey, now her family and friend are on the cased to find out who her murderer is . As days go on and on her litle sister Lindsey discover that its they neighbor Mr. Harvey that had murder her sister. As Susie gets to her litle heaven she also meets some other girls about her age who was also murdered by the same person MR. Harvey. Title of the Book Whatever happened to Janie Book Review This book is about a girl named Janie and how in the previous book she found out she was kidnapped so she contacts her real family and even tries to stay with them for a while. The thing is her other family is the one she grew up with and loves so she has to deal with that. I loved this book because you kept wondering what would happen next. Title of the Book Nobless vol.1-40 Book Review Noblesse is about a powerful, noble vampire - Cadis Etrama Di Raizel (also called Rai) - who has been asleep for 820 years with no knowledge of mankind's advancement and scientific successes. He has recently woken up in an abandoned building in South Korea[1], and is starting to get used to the modern world. He goes to a school where he meets his loyal servant Frankenstein. Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book Bamboo Blade volume 66-95 Book Review Well I finished the series as always well this is a good manga it shows determination and most of the moral lessons like respect I recommend this manga to teen who are patient and neat enough to read it. Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book Bamboo Blade volume 1-65 Book Review This manga is about Tamaki has sworn herself to be a protector of justice. In all her years of learning kendo, she has never once been beaten. But, in this world can a hero truly be strong without knowing defeat or could it be that only some lessons are learned after one loses. Joining the kendo club along with new friends and teammates Tama-chan begins her long and hilarious journey to becoming a great kendo fighter but it took me along time to read but I always manage. Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book The Breaker volume 1-72 Book Review Well it took me a long to finish but I finished it it's about A new HR teacher, Chun-woo is not your ordinary teacher with his wily ambitions. After unexpectedly witnessing his great power Shin-woo begs him to teach him so he can become stronger. Chun woo claims he can only teach Shin-woo after he throws his body into a deep river to prove his will. However Shin woo didn't know his master was much stronger than he could possibly imagine. He was a killer with mastery of nine martial arts who was hiding himself after a big mission. Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book the cry of ice mark Book Review thirrin's fourteen, but she's not average. she can fight, she can kill like a warrior. And she's the princess of a small kingdom called Icemark. her father has ruled this country for 20 years, it's time to passed the throne to his heir, who will be thirrin. thirrin has to rule her country with intelligence, also she has to put down all the rebellion. in other words, she has a duty, a duty to protect her country. she may be small in age, but not in the brain or the heart or the strengths. she knew about her responsibility , what's to be done and what's not! Title of the Book Zippy Ziggy volume 1-54 Book Review Fate has brought these two masters of lies together, and the two must battle it out to see who will be crowned the undefeated heavy-weight champion of fakeness. This manga is really confusing but in a strange way I like reading about it because it has material arts. Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book Inuyasha volume 50-56 Book Review Great manga mad that it's finished already about a half demon half human looking for the jewel shard for power. Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book Inuyasha volume 1-49 Book Review s a modern Japanese high school girl. Never the type to believe in myths and legends, her world view dramatically changes when, one day, she's pulled out of her own time and into another! There, in Japan's ancient past, Kagome discovers more than a few of those dusty old legends are true, and that her destiny is linked to one legendary creature in particular--the dog-like half-demon called Inuyasha! Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi volume 396-455 Book Review I highly recommend this manga series to every body who likes kung fu and other fighting skills. Also it's great to read because it's nice and long for your hours. Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi volume 341-395 Book Review Greatest disciple gets greater and greater every time I read it. Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi volume 288-340 Book Review Well it's true what the title say Kenichi really is the greatest disciple who ever lived. He is what he is because he shows courage and determination to get to a center goal and he may act goofy some times but he gets serious immediately. Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi volume 234-287 Book Review Kenich's moves are getting stronger for each training he does in his dojos full of the greatest master ever. Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi volume 178-235 Book Review Really good manga to read I can't keep my eyes off of it I would gives this manga a ten out of ten because it showed good moral lessons in fighting and in real life. Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi volume 129-177 Book Review beating a karate student in a match, he is soon targeted by all the delinquents in the school. Since then, Kenichi's daily routine is divided between his hellish training with the six masters of Ryozanpaku and his fights against the members of Ragnarok a gang who views him as either a possible ally or an impending threat to their plans. so that's what happened so far. Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi volume 61-128 Book Review The story focuses on Kenichi Shirahama, an average 15-year-old weakling, whose life is upended with the appearance of the naive, beautiful, and strong transfer student, Miu Furinji. After Kenichi witnesses Miu's skills in martial arts, he joins the Ryozanpaku dojo, a gathering place of those who are truly strong, which coincidentally also happens to be Miu's home. Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi volume 1-60 Book Review Fighting manga are my favorite especially about Kenichi fighting new antagonist like the ragnarok gang. I recommend this book to teens who like reading manga about fighting. Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book Bobobo-Bo Bo-bobo volume 59-117 Book Review here's what happens so far plot In the year 300 thousand earth is terrorized by the evil Margarita Empire, which will stop at nothing to rid the entire population of their hair. But now one afro wearing man stands his way Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book Bobobo-Bo Bo-bobo volume 1-58 Book Review This manga is hilarious and about a man with the power to communicate with others people hair and use his nose hair to fight evil bald henchman by the Margarita Empire. Also what I love about it is that the crazy characters Bobobo allies are like jelly jiggle. Any way I recommend this manga to teens who like a good Japanese humor. Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book The Hundred Dresses Book Review Wanda is not very popular at her school. All she wears is a faded blue dress, neat and clean but somewhat shabby. One day she announces that she had one hundred dresses in her closet at home. The other girls in her class don't believe her. After about a month, Wanda moves. The art contest is a day later. One hundred dresses are up on the wall. The submitter is Wanda.
I thought this book was okay. It didn't really have any action at all, it's a calm, quiet book. Title of the Book Get Backers volume 1-37 Book Review Great manga about to buddies that in the retrieval business and one character has the power to produce electricity and his other friend Bon has two powers one called the illusion eye which only can be used three times a day and his other power is the snake grip which gives him super strong arms that can crush almost anything. Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book Prince of Tennis volume 345-379 Book Review It took me a long time to finish the whole prince of tennis series and it 's safe to say Ryoma is in fact the prince of tennis as the title says. Which shows that determination conquers all. I recommend this manga to kids and teen readers. Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book Prince of Tennis volume 312-344 Book Review Ryoma is sure to make the starting team. Join Ryoma and the other first years, as they train hard, make friends, and try to find a place for themselves on the team. And meet Ryoma's cute but chronically shy classmate Sakuno Ryuzaki. She's got a big crush on Ryoma, but will he ever notice her? Ryoma Echizen is the Prince of Tennis. He may be ready for the Seishun Academy tennis team, but are THEY ready for HIM? Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book Prince of Tennis volume 246-311 Book Review great manga he get's more determined on every manga I read. My favorite character would be Ryoma Echizen Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book DATTE AISHITERU Book Review The high school second grader Nao secretly likes Rin, who is in the same basketball club. She didn't want to destroy the "friend" relation, and couldn't convey her feelings; but, one day, Rin falls in love at first sight?! Moreover, the person is a beautiful senior, Michiyo. And a junior, Kouta, is approaching Nao--?! Title of the Book AKKAN BABY Book Review High schoolers Yuki and Shigeru aren't dating, but still enjoy a highly active sexual relationship. Naïve and still very child-like in the way they think, it comes as a great shock to them when Shigeru discovers she's pregnant. The two are confronted with the decision of aborting the baby and wounding Shigeru, or to keep it and face great opposition from their parents and high school, and *gasp* miss their beloved Conflict concerts! Title of the Book Pendragon-The rivers of zadaa Book Review This is just an awesome book, because it has certain types of suspense in it! WOO-HOO! Genre Adventure & Suspense Title of the Book Pendragon-The jungles of Eelong Book Review This book is just AMAZING! Genre Adventure & Suspense Title of the Book CLASSIC Cartoon Tales Book Review Lots of pictures that help explain a story. so far, nice book! Title of the Book The secrets of Droon Book Review This book is for third graders, but its interesting. It has a lot of parts that have action in it. Genre Adventure & Suspense Title of the Book Bedtime stories for children Author Catherine McCafferty Book Review This book has over 20 stories, and it took a lot of time to read to my little sister. But i recommend it to little kids! Hee-hee! Title of the Book Prince of Tennis volume 127-189 Book Review Great manga the main character gets stronger and stronger with his tennis tennis skills. Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book Bleach 100-125 Book Review Its about a soul reaper finding his destiny in a road to destiny. Book Review i like mad and its show but this issue was most funny like when it made fun of green lantern Title of the Book Gameinformer Book Review I really like gameinformer it tells me about future games. and this months issue had E3 coverage in it but besides that it was pretty basic but i liked it Title of the Book Legal drugs Book Review Honestly i dislike normal manga i prefer fantasy and this book didnt satisfy. Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book Bleach 80-100 Book Review its about a substitute soul reaper saving and fighting for people he cares about. Ichigo strives to survive in getting stronger each opponent s he face. Title of the Book D Gray man Book Review I didnt like it that much. didnt get the story that much. i dont think i will continue the series anymore. Genre Manga (Japanese graphic novels) Title of the Book bamboo grove Book Review It was a nice story. poor chiko pulled in the army. But he met a good friend and the ending was a happy one, besides the missing limb Title of the Book Bleach 50-80 Book Review Its about a heroic substitute soul reaper saving and discovering more of his power to help his companions in need and it is one of the best epic adventures on the manga Title of the Book Bleach volume 30-50 Book Review Its about a soul reaper in his epic quests with his friends to safe people. ichigo and his friends in the soul society quests to destroy hollows. Title of the Book heart of the sea Author nathaniel philbrick Book Review it kinda reminds me of moby dick. it was ok dont get how the title ties in with the story Genre Adventure & Suspense Title of the Book Bleach volume 1-10 Book Review Its about a substitute soul reaper finding his destiny and and protecting his loved ones from getting hurt. There are all sorts of disasters in bleach with many opponents wishing to to destroy him and his friends. People should read the book and see some epic adventures.
