Important Messages - Please Read
Children (3 years old through entering grade 5) are invited to register online for the Reading Program and (beginning June 30) log their reading times online. Registered children who read for 120 minutes or more each week (6/30-8/10) and report their reading times online are eligible for a weekly prize the following week. (For pre-readers and beginner readers, being read aloud to counts!)
The last day to pick up prizes and your reading certificate is August 22.

Geronimo had not written a book in a long time, so everyone came to his office and said write a book. Then Geronimo had to go to Cacklefur castle. So Geronimo went and did not like it there. The food was bad, the bathroom was locked, and 2 kids played pranks on Geronimo. This was my favorite part. He came because somebody had died and he wanted to investigate that. They found that somebody was not dead after all! Then the castle library was on fire so Geronimo put out the fire. Everybody cheered and Geronimo went home.

I learned that bubbles can be bigger if you blow lightly. I also learned that you can blow a small bubble by blowing hard. This is a very interesting book about bubbles. Did you know that bubbles are air trapped inside liquid? Bubbles pop when they can't hold all the air inside. They also pop when you poke your finger through. It makes a hole and the air escapes!

Aldwyn runs into an unknown place that turns out to be a pet shop, but not any pet shop. It’s a pet shop for wizards and witches! The animals inside are called familiars. Most of them have powers. Aldwyn acts as a familiar as a customer looks around. His name is Jack. He is a little boy. Surprisingly, Jack chooses Aldwyn! Aldwyn is brought home to the young apprentice’s house to meet his family, his brother and sister. His siblings also have familiars. His sister has a frog and his brother a blue jay. The kids go in to eat while the familiars get to know each other more.

Aldwyn is the town cat. He is known to live on rooftops and for stealing fish in the morning from the town fish shop. One day, Aldwyn was carefully watching the fishmonger bring in a heavy sack of flounder. The fishmonger poured the smelly fish into a bucket. As soon as the fishmonger was distracted, Aldwyn jumped on the crates up to the window and pounced in. Quickly, he snatched a fresh fish from the bucket and started to pounce out when OUCH!!! He had fell right into the cat trap. His tail was caught and was throbbing. Since when did the fishmonger start putting down cat traps? Suddenly, a big, scary, man holding an ax walked out of the closet and said“Got you now!” Aldwyn ran for his life! The ax man ran after him holding his big ax, ready to chop. Up and down the streets they went. Find out what happens next, in The Familiars!

Then they met a karate master, he had a scroll that had great power. So they hid it in another karate master's karate place. Then Geronimo tripped on his tail and fainted. When he woke up they got the scroll. But when they read it they were against ninjas and the rich guy. So they fought them and won.
