Reviews Title: The assassin's accomplice : Mary Surratt and the plot to kill Abraham Lincoln Author: Larson, Kate Clifford Genre: U.S. History Rating: Loved it! Review: I knew very little about Mary Surratt before reading this book, and thanks to the hard work done by Kate Larson I can no longer say that. I loved every minute of this book and loved the notion that when the author started her research she was hoping to prove Mary's innocence but in the end found her guilt overwhelming. Mary was not only a female accomplice in the plot to kidnap/kill Abraham Lincoln, but was also the first woman to be executed by the U.S. Her story is fascinating and left me wanting more. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!...Get this book! Title: The Other Boleyn Girl Author: Philippa Gregory Genre: Fiction Rating: Loved it! Review: This novel put a whole new meaning to sibling rivalry. This is a fictional account of the known factual romance of Mary Boleyn and then Anne Boleyn with King Henry VIII. The author did a wonderful and steamy job of telling this story. She started the novel in the childhood of Mary, Anne and George and ends the novel after the demise of a few of them (in case you don't know, I wont tell). There is a great deal of fact mixed with a great deal of fiction which I really enjoyed. I primarily read a lot of non-fiction and have quite a bit on Henry VIII and his wives, so it was fun to decipher between the fact and fiction. ...Get this book!
